May is Lyme Disease Awareness month and the Belfast Free Library will host a Lyme and tick-borne disease educational panel featuring Dr Elizabeth Yori, ND of Heritage Natural Medicine, Paula Jackson Jones, President & Co-founder of Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education (MLDSE) and Paul McFarland, Owner of Tick Talk Maine. The panel presentation will take place Tuesday May 21st at 6:30pm.
The panel will cover tick species in Maine and the diseases they carry, how to protect yourself against having a tick encounter as well steps to take if one is bitten by a tick; from risk exposure to diagnosing to treatment. The deer ticks are out and increasing in numbers! This free presentation is a good opportunity to get informed.
